St George's Presbyterian Church, on Oakfield Road at the junction with St James's Road, was built in 1868 as a replacement for the previous iron church. It closed in 1938 and was used by Oxo as a food depot during the war. In 1947 it was purchased and converted for use as a masonic centre by Croydon & District Masonic Hall PLC.
